दिल्ली।लोक जनशक्ति पार्टी (एलजेपी) के वरिष्‍ठ नेता और केंद्रीय मंत्री रामविलास पासवान (Ram Vilas Paswan) का अस्‍पताल में  निधन हो गया है. वे पिछले कुछ समय से बीमार चल रहे थे. पासवान की हाल ही में हार्ट सर्जरी हुई थी.वे 74 वर्ष के थे. उनके बेटे चिराग पासवान ने एक ट्वीट करके पिता के निधन की जानकारी दी. उन्‍होंने लिखा, ”पापा….अब आप इस दुनिया में नहीं हैं लेकिन मुझे पता है आप जहां भी हैं हमेशा मेरे साथ हैं. Miss you Papa.”पासवान, नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्‍व वाली एनडीए सरकार में उपभोक्‍ता मामलों तथा खाद्य और नागरिक आपूर्ति मंत्री मंत्रालय की जिम्‍मेदारी संभाल रहे थे.

पांच जुलाई 1946 को खगरिया जिले के शाहरबन्‍नी के एक दलित परिवार में जन्‍मे रामविलास पासवान की गिनती बिहार ही नहीं, देश के कद्दावर नेताओं में की जाती थी.जेपी के दौर में वे भारतीय राजनीति में उभरे.
